Internist Doctor: Internists or doctors of internal medicine, often called “internists,” are primary-care physicians who specialize in the diagnosis, treatment, and care of adults. They’re skilled in the management of patients who have undifferentiated or multi-system disease processes and can handle severe chronic illnesses and situations where several different illnesses may strike at the same time.
