What is Rheumatoid Arthritis?
Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA) is an autoimmune disease characterised by inflammation of the joints, most commonly causing pain, swelling, and stiffness. The most common symptom of RA is fatigue, while other symptoms may include joint aches, poor circulation and stiffness, particularly in the morning. RA also often affects the skin, eyes, and/or lungs, and it can be accompanied by other conditions such as anemia and fatigue. There are a variety of treatments available to those diagnosed with RA, including lifestyle changes, medications, and in some cases, surgery.
